Days writing plays

The flyer for This is Your Captain Speaking

In the early days of the business, Stonehart Publications, Sylvester and Robert Troop would spend some time writing plays, for the radio. They were both published writers and still hoping to make a living through writing. One of the plays, This is Your Captain Speaking, was finally staged in 2006 at Pentameters in Hampstead.

The script for Who Killed Mr Drum? is published by Oberon
Sylvester with Paul Robinson, director, and Fraser Grace, co-author of the play Who Killed Mr Drum?

But his playwright debut came with a highly rated 2005 stage version of Who Killed Mr Drum? co written from the book with Fraser Grace. This was staged at Riverside Studios directed by Paul Robinson, starring Sello Ncube as Can and Lucian Msamati as Zeke then as Mr Drum, when Wale Ojo fell ill.
