Sylvester rigged out for action

Spent the early part of the WW2 on Robben Island, not in captivity like more famous names, but rather degaussing British ships so they could sail without triggering magnetic mines. Having seconded to the Royal Navy he sailed over in a troop ship playing poker and drinking Coca Cola (he never touched a drop again) in preparation to being sent out to fight the Japanese and face the kamikaze pilots. He landed at Gourock.
